I’m a freelance journalist & radio producer telling
science & environmental stories
across the West.

Based in Missoula, Montana.

I write environmental justice stories for radio and print.
I’ve reported in camouflage, wildland firefighting gear and crampons, among other unexpected garb.
I earned a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Natural Resource Journalism from the University of Montana in 2023.

My radio stories have aired on NPR, Montana Public Radio and community stations in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. I’ve worked with The Solutions Journalism Network and the Rocky Mountain Community Radio coalition. My print stories have appeared in High Country News,
the Missoula Current, Aspen Daily News and others.

I’ve reported on housing issues, public lands conflicts, gray wolf reintroduction, wildfire, mining and more. I’ve done long-form radio stories on tribal food sovereignty efforts in the Blackfeet Nation and the history of knapweed in Montana. I won an award from the Colorado Broadcasters Association for
my work covering the 2020 Grizzly Creek Fire.
And I was a 2022 Crown of the Continent Reporting Fellow.

I worked as an editor on season one of the Working Wild U Podcast
and reported for episodes 10 and 11 of Stolen: The Search for Jermain.

When I’m not neck-deep in Adobe Audition, I love to
cook, garden, bike, Nordic ski and hike with my pup, Zuki.
